Welcome!
Hi and welcome to my Equestrian Academy!
When I am training members for up coming tests I am often asked where is the best place to source the information they need to support their training…I don’t really know the answer to that although obviously there is lots out there – so that has led to the creation of my online Equestrian Academy!
I have guided members through Pony Club tests for more years than I care to remember and I assess at all levels from the D Test all the way through to A Test!
During this time I have seen many candidates, some successful and others not so much, but many making silly mistakes that could have so easily been avoided.
At this point it is important that you recognise that all Pony Club tests are primarily looking for practical horse people, so those practical skills need to be worked on with a PC coach who knows exactly what is required for the level you are aiming for.
This study guide is to support your practical learning not to replace it!
Although I have covered all of the topics you will still have to be able to relate it to your own situation so not just reciting back what you have read. I’ve given some ideas and tips to help with this. As an assessor we do know when candidates are just quoting something they have read or telling us something they think we want to hear but they don’t quite understand it!
To help make it more user friendly I have covered everything as it appears on the syllabus and that is how it is listed in the index so you can go directly to the topic you want.
One of the advantages of being online is that I can update the information as necessary. Things can change so quickly and this is an easy way to make sure the information in the Academy is as up to date as it can be.
Also it is easily accessible as most people have their phones with them most of the time!!
Once you have subscribed you will have access to the level for 3 months – this should give you more than enough time to help prepare for your test.
This guide has been a long time coming – I have been talking about it for a very long time! There is still work to be done as I’m now working on the C+ riding and then on to B Test. It is a lot of work – much more than I thought to be honest – and I am forever fiddling with it and tweaking bits so it is still evolving, how do people ever write, or indeed finish writing, a book?
A big thank you must go to my long suffering husband PJ who has helped with all the technological stuff – that is beyond me – and to all the people, and horses, who have let me take, and retake, numerous pictures of them.
I do appreciate it!
Jane
